Long link assembly chains are used for lashing, towing, ect, not for overhead lifting. Secure loads providing adjustment above the hook or making secondary suspension tauts and can make single link adjustments to balance load levels. Lashing chains of several types are commonly used, with hooks at one or both ends, or with hook at one end and elephant foot on the other one. They are tightened with a chain tensioner or a chain turnbuckle to achieve efficient securing of vehicles.
